Influence on wide-angle doublet metalenses due to different types of all-dielectric metasurfaces

Hidemitsu Toba et al.

Summary: The study shows that a doublet metalens can achieve nearly diffraction limited focusing up to an incident angle of 30 degrees. Among the different types of meta-atoms, the waveguide-type structure is found to be the most robust against oblique incidence. Rigorous electromagnetic simulations comparing the micropost type and waveguide type of doublet metalenses demonstrate that the waveguide-type metasurface further improves the off-axis performance of the lens.
