Direct multi-dimensional Chebyshev polynomial based reconstruction for magnetic particle imaging

Christine Droigk et al.

Summary: Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) is a tomographic imaging technique that measures the voltage induced by changes in magnetization of magnetic nanoparticle distributions. A direct reconstruction technique for MPI in the frequency domain is presented, using Lissajous trajectory excitation. This technique employs Chebyshev polynomials and rescaling, achieving fast reconstruction time and comparable image quality to state-of-the-art methods.

Sparse Interpolation in Terms of Multivariate Chebyshev Polynomials

Evelyne Hubert et al.

Summary: Sparse interpolation involves recovering a function as a linear combination of basis functions from a limited number of evaluations, with applications in multivariate functions and various types of basis functions. In addition to studied cases like the monomial basis and exponential functions, generalized multivariate Chebyshev polynomials defined by root systems have connections to topics like Fourier analysis and Lie algebras. A deterministic algorithm has been proposed to recover a function as a linear combination of a limited number of such polynomials.

Reconstruction of Preclinical PET Images via Chebyshev Polynomial Approximation of the Sinogram

Nicholas E. Protonotarios et al.

Summary: There has been increasing interest in dedicated preclinical imaging modalities, especially in the case of positron emission tomography (PET). In this study, a novel numerical algorithm based on Chebyshev polynomials is presented for PET image reconstruction. The results demonstrate that the reconstructions using this method are comparable to the standard analytic methods.

Lagrange-Chebyshev Interpolation for image resizing

Donatella Occorsio et al.

Summary: This paper presents an image resizing method based on Lagrange-Chebyshev interpolation, which achieves good performance in both downscaling and upscaling. Experimental results show that it is comparable to the Bicubic resizing method in upscaling and performs significantly better in downscaling.

Spectral density reconstruction with Chebyshev polynomials

Joanna E. Sobczyk et al.

Summary: This paper presents a method for accurately calculating the spectral density in a strongly correlated quantum many-body system. By extending a quantum algorithm, the spectral density can be controllably reconstructed with rigorous error estimates. The method is applied to calculate the local density of states for graphene in a magnetic field, showing potential for future applications in nuclear and condensed matter physics.

Fast mesh data augmentation via Chebyshev polynomial of spectral filtering

Shih-Gu Huang et al.

Summary: This study proposed two unbiased augmentation methods, LB-eigDA and C-pDA, to generate new data on surfaces with a mean similar to observed data. Validation was done through simulated data and application in medical image analysis demonstrated improvement in classification accuracy.
