Molecular characterization, expression analysis and function identification of TNF? in black rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii)

Chengbin Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, the TNF alpha was characterized and its roles in the immune system of black rockfish during bacterial infections were explored. The results showed that Ss_TNF alpha was significantly up-regulated in the spleen and intestine after infections, while down-regulated in PBLs. The expression patterns of other inflammatory cytokines were also observed.

Embryonic Exposure to UV-328 Impairs the Cell Cycle in Zebrafish (Danio rerio) by Inhibiting the p38 MAPK/p53/Gadd45a Signaling Pathway

Liang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identified the key signaling cascades involved in oxidative stress in zebrafish larvae and evaluated the cell cycle arrests and associated developmental alterations caused by UV-328 exposure. UV-328 inhibited the p38 MAPK/p53/Gadd45a regulatory circuit, leading to G1 phase cell cycle arrest and abnormal embryo hatching and heart rate.

Identification of mRNA-miRNA-lncRNA regulatory network associated with the immune response to Aeromonas salmonicides infection in the black rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii)

Chengbin Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, RNA-seq was used to investigate the differential expressions of mRNA, miRNA, and lncRNA in the black rockfish spleen following Aeromonas salmonicida infection. The results showed a significant number of differentially expressed mRNA, miRNA, and lncRNA during the bacterial infection, indicating their important functions in immune-related pathways. Furthermore, lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA pathways and mRNA-miRNA-lncRNA sub-networks were constructed, providing valuable predictions for further studies on immune responses in the black rockfish.

Exploring IL-17 in spondyloarthritis for development of novel treatments and biomarkers

Solveig Skovlund Groen et al.

Summary: Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a group of chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases characterized by inflammation in the axial skeleton, peripheral joints, and entheseal insertion sites. Genetic evidence and studies point to the significant role of interleukin (IL)-23 and IL-17 in SpA pathogenesis. Targeting the IL-23/17 pathways is seen as a promising strategy for treatment, with ongoing research focusing on serological markers and imaging strategies for early diagnosis and personalized medicine.
