Magnetic damping of jet flows in quasi-two-dimensional Rayleigh-Benard convection

Ashna Aggarwal et al.

Summary: This study investigates the damping mechanism of Jupiter's surface jets using numerical simulations. The results show that the interaction parameter between electromagnetic forces and fluid dynamics is crucial in jet damping. The study also suggests that electromagnetic forces alone may not be sufficient to fully truncate the jets, and other mechanisms might be required.
