MIMO-SAR Interferometric Measurements for Wind Turbine Tower Deformation Monitoring

Andreas Baumann-Ouyang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the use of a low-cost MIMO-SAR sensor to monitor deformations of wind turbine towers. The results show that the sensor can accurately and efficiently detect deformations at the top of the tower, with results aligned with reference measurements. The potential of these sensors extends to monitoring other high-rise structures.

Structural displacement monitoring using ground-based synthetic aperture radar

Benyamin Hosseiny et al.

Summary: This study develops a ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GBSAR) imaging system and interferometric processing framework for structural health monitoring (SHM). The proposed GBSAR system can monitor sub-millimeter displacements with high spatial resolution and 0.02 mm precision in the LOS direction. It also demonstrates high potential for measuring continuous sub-second LOS displacements and long-term 3D displacement vectors.

Analysis and Research on Pipeline Vibration of a Natural Gas Compressor Station and Vibration Reduction Measures

Enbin Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the abnormal vibration of pipelines at Yongchang gas station, proposing a vibration reduction scheme of increasing pipe diameter and adding appropriate constraints which was verified through simulation. The main conclusions include identifying fluid pressure fluctuation as the root cause of abnormal vibration, noting that vibration becomes more severe with larger gas transmission volumes, and determining that the proposed scheme has the best vibration reduction effect.

Pipeline Monitoring Using Highly Sensitive Vibration Sensor Based on Fiber Ring Cavity Laser

Nageswara Lalam et al.

Summary: A vibration fiber sensor based on a fiber ring cavity laser and an interferometer-based single-mode-multimode-single-mode (SMS) fiber structure is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The system achieved a wide range of vibration frequencies and showed effectiveness in real-time pipeline vibration monitoring, making it a promising solution for pipeline acoustic emission monitoring.

W-band MIMO GB-SAR for Bridge Testing/Monitoring

Lapo Miccinesi et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a fast MIMO-GBSAR radar operating in W-band, which can complete a scan in less than 8 seconds and is compact and lightweight for easy deployment in the field. Through testing in a controlled environment and a real case study, the performance of this radar has been proven.
