Restoring the saturation response of a PMT using pulse shape and artificial neural networks

Hyun-Gi Lee et al.

Summary: The linearity region and saturation response of a PMT were studied using a LAB-based liquid scintillator. A correlation between two different saturation responses, with pulse-shape distortion and pulse-area decrease, was observed. The pulse shape provided useful information for estimating the linearity region relative to the pulse area. Additionally, an artificial neural network was trained to predict the decrease in pulse area based on the observed pulse shape, allowing for a restoration of the saturation response of PMTs.

Perovskite Nanocrystals and Dyes for High-Efficiency Liquid Scintillator Counters To Detect Radiation

Mingjie Liu et al.

Summary: By loading CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals and organic dyes, the radio-and photoluminescence efficiencies of liquid scintillators can be greatly enhanced. Experimental and theoretical simulations suggest that Förster resonance energy transfer from the dyes to the perovskite nanocrystals significantly contributes to the enhanced quantum efficiency of radioluminescence.

Suppression of temperature quenching in perovskite nanocrystals for efficient and thermally stable light-emitting diodes

Mingming Liu et al.

Summary: Fluoride-treated CsPbBr3 nanocrystals exhibit near unity emission efficiency at temperatures up to 373 K, with constant decay kinetics. The treatment leads to surfaces rich in fluorine with wider energy gaps than the core, suppressing carrier trapping and improving thermal stability. Devices incorporating these nanocrystals show low turn-on voltage and high external quantum efficiency, with nearly 80% efficiency maintained at high temperatures, offering a promising pathway for high-performance light-emitting diodes based on perovskite nanostructures.

Optimization of the JUNO liquid scintillator composition using a Daya Bay antineutrino detector

A. Abusleme et al.

Summary: A 20 ton LS sample was produced in a pilot plant to study the optical properties of LS in different compositions for JUNO. The concentrations of PPO and bis-MSB were increased in steps to determine the optimal composition. Daya Bay data were used to tune an optical model for the JUNO simulation, resulting in the recommendation of purified LAB with 2.5 g/L PPO and 1 to 4 mg/L bis-MSB for JUNO LS.
