Ag nanodots-induced interfacial fast electronic/ionic diffusion kinetics of carbon capsule supported CoMn2O4 for high-voltage supercapacitors

Zengcai Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-doped carbon capsule (NC) supported Ag nanodots-decorated CoMn2O4 nanoflower (NC/CoMn2O4/Ag) electrode material was successfully designed and synthesized. The decorated Ag nanodots on CoMn2O4 played a fundamental role in improving the band gap, electrical conductivity, diffusion and transfer of electrolyte ions. Additionally, an asymmetric gel electrolyte of PVA-Na2SO4//PVA-KOH was used in the assembly of the asymmetric device, which achieved high energy density and large voltage output.

Fe incorporated ternary layered double hydroxides with remarkably improved electrochemical performance towards asymmetric supercapacitors

Yuanxiang Zhao et al.

Summary: A nanocomposite composed of ternary NiCo2Fex layered double hydroxide (LDH) anchored to g-C3N4 was prepared for high-performance supercapacitor, with Fe playing a key role in enhancing energy storage performance. Density functional theory calculations showed that Fe improved the Fermi level of NiCo2Fex-LDH, and stable N-Ni bonds were formed after combining NiCo2Fex-LDH with g-C3N4. The electrochemical test results demonstrated superior specific capacitance and cycling performance.
