Resumen El siguiente estudio pretende ofrecer un analisis del complejo proceso de composicion del Orlando furioso de Ludovico Ariosto, de su extraordinaria difusion en Italia y de su decisiva contribucion en la conformacion del modelo del genero editorial del libro de entretenimiento en Europa. Asi como de su recepcion en los reinos de la Monarquia Hispanica durante los siglos XVI y XVII, con especial atencion a las traducciones realizadas por Jeronimo de Urrea, Hernando Alcocer, Diego Vazquez de Contreras y Gonzalo de Oliva, y de senalar algunas de las tareas pendientes mas acuciantes a tal respecto.
