Prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopenia in people over 60 years in Iran: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This study estimated the prevalence of osteoporosis in the Iranian elderly population through systematic review and meta-analysis. The findings showed that the prevalence of low bone density is higher than that of osteoporosis among individuals over 60 years old. Approximately one-third of Iranian elderly individuals have osteoporosis, while about half of them have low bone density.

A retrospective review of the community medicine needs from osteoporosis services in Canada
