Eating behaviors in children with down syndrome: Results of a home-use test

Carolyn F. Ross et al.

Summary: This research aimed to understand mealtime behaviors and preferred food textures of children with Down syndrome (DS). The results showed that children with DS displayed different mealtime behaviors compared to typically developing children (TD) and had preferences for certain textures. The presence of DS diagnosis, age, and texture sensitivity influenced the child's reactions to food products. The research will be extended to develop suitable food products for children with DS and texture sensitivity.
