Crosstalk between long non-coding RNAs and p53 signaling pathway in colorectal cancer: A review study

Mohammad Mahdi Khanifar et al.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is a prevalent malignancy and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are dysregulated in colorectal cancer and have been found to modulate the expression of the p53 gene, a crucial tumor suppressor gene involved in various cellular processes. Understanding the interaction between lncRNAs and the p53 pathway in colorectal cancer has important implications for carcinogenesis, tumor progression, and therapeutic resistance.

New insights into the interplay between long non-coding RNAs and RNA-binding proteins in cancer

Zi-Ting Yao et al.

Summary: With the development of proteomics and epigenetics, the discovery of RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) and their interaction with long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has garnered increasing attention. These interactions play a crucial role in cancer progression and offer new insights for cancer drug discovery. This review provides a comprehensive discussion on the lncRNA-RBP interaction network, including the regulation of lncRNA localization, modification, stability, and activity by RBPs, as well as the effects of RBPs on lncRNA stability, transport, transcription, and localization. Furthermore, the regulation and influence of these interactions on cancer development-related factors, such as N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of lncRNAs, are explored, along with a summary of therapeutic strategies that target the lncRNA-RBP interaction network.

PGM5P3-AS1 regulates MAP1LC3C to promote cell ferroptosis and thus inhibiting the malignant progression of triple-negative breast cancer

Liqiang Qi et al.

Summary: PGM5P3-AS1 is down-regulated in TNBC cells and inhibits cell proliferation and migration. It promotes cell ferroptosis in TNBC by recruiting RNA-binding protein NOP58 to stabilize MAP1LC3C mRNA, thus inhibiting TNBC progression.

Long noncoding RNA NEAT1 promotes ferroptosis by modulating the miR-362-3p/MIOX axis as a ceRNA

Ying Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reveals the important role of NEAT1 in regulating ferroptosis in tumors, and enhances the effect of ferroptosis by modulating miR-362-3p and MIOX. Therefore, ferroptosis induction may be a promising therapeutic strategy for HCC patients with high NEAT1 expression.

Identification and validation of a novel redox-related lncRNA prognostic signature in lung adenocarcinoma

Jie Ren et al.

Summary: A novel redox-related lncRNA prognostic signature was identified and validated for predicting LUAD patient prognosis, outperforming existing models. Risk score and stage were independent prognostic indicators, and a nomogram plot was constructed to predict survival probability. Functional enrichment analysis and tumor immune microenvironment landscape analysis were performed to uncover differences between high- and low-risk subgroups.
