Demographic Risk Factors of Retinopathy of Prematurity: A Systematic Review of Population-Based Studies

Caberry W. Yu et al.

Summary: This review evaluated the strength of association of documented risk factors for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in large sample, population-based studies. The results showed a consistent relationship between gestational age (GA) and birth weight (BW) with ROP. Additionally, neonatal sepsis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia were found to be associated with an increased risk of ROP.
