An extension of the Boussinesq-type models to weakly compressible flows

Gael L. Richard

Summary: The study extends Boussinesq-type models to weakly compressible flows in the fully nonlinear case, obtaining a quasi-incompressible model with improved dispersive properties that significantly reduces sound velocity and computational time. The numerical results show good agreement with experimental data and the capability to calculate the decrease of tsunami velocity due to compressible effects.
