Deep reinforcement learning with combinatorial actions spaces: An to maintenance

Niklas Goby et al.

Summary: In this paper, we improve a prescriptive analytics approach using deep reinforcement learning to deal with sequential decision problems with large, noisy state spaces and combinatorial actions spaces. We introduce a novel mechanism that utilizes deep learning to reduce the action space and apply this approach to maintenance management. The results demonstrate that our method outperforms established baseline methods and significantly reduces the cost gap between the next-best solution and the optimum under perfect information. Additionally, our work highlights the potential of using prescriptive approaches based on deep reinforcement learning in other challenging problem settings.

Ranking of advertising goals on social network sites by Pythagorean fuzzy hierarchical decision making: Facebook

Merve Bulut et al.

Summary: The rapid growth of social networking sites has reinforced concepts of e-commerce and social commerce. Facebook, as a platform that connects businesses and consumers, has updated its ad targets in recent years. A fuzzy decision model is proposed for Facebook advertising targeting, using AHP-TOPSIS methods and Pythagorean fuzzy sets. The model suggests that brand awareness-raising campaigns should be included to target local or global users.

Summary: This study introduces an innovative soft-computing framework based on the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for predicting crucial parameters for energy harvesting, such as wave height and wave period. The model incorporates inputs like temperature, wind speed, and wind direction to accurately predict wave energy. The ANFIS SC method performs better than artificial neural networks (ANNs) and ANFIS GP in wave energy prediction, making it suitable for wave-powered ship navigation.
