A mathematical approach to estimate micro-displacement of a dental implant using electromagnetic Frequency Response Analysis

Pankaj Dhatrak et al.

Summary: The aim of this paper is to develop a mathematical model of dental prosthetic to assess micro-displacement under electromagnetic excitation. Finite Element Analysis was used to estimate the stiffness and damping values. Frequency Response Analysis, particularly Electromagnetic FRA, was employed to measure stability through resonant frequency and micro-displacement. MATLAB was used to plot the micro-displacement and resonance frequency, showing negligible variation within the recommended input frequency range of 1-30 Hz.

Survival of Single Immediate Implants and Reasons for Loss: A Systematic Review

Patricia Soegiantho et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the survival rate of immediate implant placement and identify factors influencing their failure. The results showed a survival rate ranging from 83.7% to 100% for immediate implants. Lack of osseointegration and infection abscess were common reasons for failure. Thus, these factors should be considered during immediate implant placement.

Retrospective clinical study of tooth-supported single crowns: A multifactor analysis

Mohammed Hawthan et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the survival of tooth-supported single crowns and assess the complications involved. The results showed that anterior placement, non-vital abutments, and bruxism significantly affected the survival of single crowns, while factors such as patient age and sex, crown location, tooth type, and crown material had no influence on the survival rate.

Validation of an implant stability measurement device using the percussion response: a clinical research study

Yurie Okuhama et al.

Summary: This study compared the performance of AnyCheck and Osstell devices in measuring implant stability in clinical practice, finding a positive correlation between primary and secondary implant stability as measured by the two devices. The IST and ISQ values showed the most significant decrease during the first postoperative week and an increase during the second week.

An in vitro evaluation on polyurethane foam sheets of the insertion torque, removal torque values, and resonance frequency analysis (RFA) of a self-tapping threads and round apex implant

Margherita Tumedei et al.

Summary: An in vitro investigation was conducted to simulate bone response to different polyurethane densities with self-tapping threads and round apex implant geometry. The study found that implants with self-tapping threads and round apex had higher insertion torque and stability in high-density polyurethane.

Impact of timing of dental implant placement and loading: Summary and consensus statements of group 1-The 6th EAO Consensus Conference 2021

Nikos Donos et al.

Summary: The EAO workshop group discussed and summarized four systematic reviews on the impact of timing of dental implant placement and loading, finding that different timings can affect implant survival rates. While some conclusions were drawn from the available literature, further research is needed on the specific topic of timing in order to provide detailed guidelines for different protocols.

The survival rates and risk factors of implants in the early stage: a retrospective study

Yong Yang et al.

Summary: The study focused on early survival rates of dental implants in China, with a cohort of 1078 cases and 2053 implants. The overall early survival rate exceeded 96%, with factors such as age, bone quality, bone augmentation, implant length, and immediate implantation identified as risk factors for early survival rates. Careful consideration should be given to these factors when placing implants.
