Tree Visualization By One Table (tvBOT): a web application for visualizing, modifying and annotating phylogenetic trees

Jianmin Xie et al.

Summary: tvBOT is a user-friendly and efficient web application for visualizing, modifying, and annotating phylogenetic trees. It excels in data preparation by eliminating redundant style and syntax data. With a data-driven engine, tvBOT allows annotations with practical data organized in uniform formats, making it easy to add specific layers of annotation dataset. It supports real-time and diversified style adjustments, and can be used on mobile devices. Furthermore, tvBOT offers multiple formats for tree annotations by combining 26 annotation dataset types. It also allows exporting the final drawing state and related data in JSON format for sharing, editing, or using as a style template. tvBOT is available for free at: https://www.chiplot.online/tvbot.html.

Steroid and Triterpenoid Compounds with Antiparasitic Properties

Ivana Z. Kuzminac et al.

Summary: Parasitic diseases have a significant impact on both humans and animals, particularly in tropical regions. However, efficient and affordable treatments for these infections are still lacking. Researchers are exploring the discovery of safe and effective antiparasitic drugs, including existing drugs and new compounds derived from natural sources. Steroid and triterpenoid compounds have attracted attention due to their wide range of applications in treating various diseases. This review presents an overview of isolated and synthesized steroid and triterpenoid compounds from 2018 to 2021 that have shown effectiveness against certain parasitic protozoa and helminths, providing valuable insights for future drug development.
