Crypto asset ownership, financial literacy, and investment experience

Hiroshi Fujiki

Summary: This study reveals that crypto asset owners are typically younger, more likely to be male, have higher financial literacy, and are inclined to use cashless payments and hoard cash. Furthermore, there are different types of crypto asset owners based on their investment experience with conventional financial assets, leading to variations in cash hoarding and financial literacy among them. The results suggest that crypto asset owners should not be viewed as a homogeneous group of financially literate investors.
