Dynamic behavior analysis of a feedback control predator-prey model with exponential fear effect and Hassell-Varley functional response

Huanmeng Li et al.

Summary: In this paper, a predator-prey model with exponential fear effect and Hassell-Varley functional response is proposed, and the effects of fear level and the Hassell-Varley constant on the system dynamics are analyzed. The results show that appropriately increasing the fear level can stabilize the system for predators that form tight groups, while the effect of fear on equilibrium stability is not significant for other predators that do not form tight groups. Additionally, a feedback control strategy is applied to reduce the negative impact of prey population on the environment, and the existence and stability of order-n periodic solution are investigated.

Qualitative analysis of exponential power rate fishery model and complex dynamics guided by a discontinuous weighted fishing strategy

Yuan Tian et al.

Summary: This study proposes a predator-prey model for fisheries with an exponential power rate and Ivlev-type functional response. The influence of exponential factor on the stability of the coexistence equilibrium is investigated. A weighted fishing strategy is introduced into the model to ensure the scientific and reasonable exploitation and utilization of fishery resources, and the complex dynamics induced by the weighted harvesting activity are analyzed. Numerical simulations and optimization are implemented to verify theoretical results and conclusions are presented from the perspective of biological significance.

Qualitative study of cross-diffusion and pattern formation in Leslie-Gower predator-prey model with fear and Allee effects

Debjit Pal et al.

Summary: This study focuses on a prey-predator reaction-diffusion model with a modified Leslie-Gower type functional response that incorporates Allee and fear effects. Both self and cross-diffusion are introduced in the model. The equilibrium points, their stability, saddle-node, and Hopf bifurcations around steady states are investigated for a non-spatial system. The conditions for Turing instability and the critical line of Hopf and Turing bifurcation in a spatial domain with zero-flux boundary conditions are determined. Numerical simulation is carried out to depict the parametric space for different regions, especially in Turing space. It is observed that cross diffusion plays a significant role in forming patterns such as spots, stripes, and a mixture of spots and stripes. The issue of spatiotemporal pattern controllability is also examined. However, the availability of cross diffusion shows a paradoxical effect on prey density with increasing level of Allee.

Dynamics of a ratio-dependent Leslie-Gower predator-prey model with Allee effect and fear effect

Yajing Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a ratio-dependent predator-prey model with the Allee effect and fear effect on prey is proposed and its dynamic behaviors are investigated. The equilibrium existence and stability, as well as the bifurcation of the system, including saddle-node bifurcation, degenerate Hopf bifurcation, and Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation, are analyzed. The results reveal the presence of two-dimensional cusps and a two-dimensional Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation in the system.

Threshold behavior of a stochastic predator-prey system with prey refuge and fear effect

Haokun Qi et al.

Summary: The paper investigates the threshold behavior of a stochastic predator-prey system with various factors, and finds ways to improve the survival rates of prey and predator. Prey survival rate can be enhanced by strengthening refuge, reducing fear cost or decreasing white noise intensity, while predator survival rate can be increased by weakening refuge strength, increasing fear cost or reducing white noise intensity.
