MgNet: A fault diagnosis approach for multi-bearing system based on auxiliary bearing and multi-granularity information fusion

Jin Deng et al.

Summary: With the rapid development of deep learning, there have been many excellent bearing fault diagnosis methods. However, most of these methods focus on diagnosing single bearings and there is limited research on fault detection in multi-bearing systems. Additionally, many diagnostic models based on vibration signals require embedding an accelerometer, which can introduce safety hazards and damage the original machine structure. Therefore, a framework called MgNet, based on multi-granularity information fusion, was proposed to diagnose and locate faults in multi-bearing systems without damaging the mechanical structure. The effectiveness of MgNet was verified on a fault diagnosis dataset, demonstrating its robustness and accuracy in diagnosing faults and locating them.

A Bearing Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Improved Mutual Dimensionless and Deep Learning

Jianbin Xiong et al.

Summary: Under nonlinear and nonstationary dynamic conditions, traditional multidimensional dimensionless indicators (MDIs) fail to effectively diagnose faults in petrochemical units. To address this, this article proposes a new dimensionless indicator named complementary ensemble multidimensionless indicators (CEMDIs), by combining complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition (CEEMD) and MDI. The CEMDI processed data is then converted into Gramian angular fields (GAFs) using the sequential mapping method, and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are used to identify different fault types in sparse data. The proposed method is validated using three datasets, showcasing its effectiveness and superiority over traditional methods.

Deep learning-based active noise control on construction sites

Alireza Mostafavi et al.

Summary: Although construction noise pollution is a serious issue for governments in metropolitan cities, there is currently no effective and practical solution. This paper proposes a novel deep-learning-based feedforward ANC controller that takes into account the delay and nonlinear behavior of acoustic devices to attenuate construction-related noise. The developed network, with approximately 128,500 parameters, can be expanded to a multi-channel ANC method without increasing computational costs and is suitable for open space environments like construction sites. It achieved broadband noise attenuation of around 8.3 dB for a wide variety of construction noises, with minor degradation at very high-frequency ranges (7.5-8 kHz). The presented network outperformed traditional and state-of-the-art ANC algorithms.
