Walking speed reduction rates at intersections while wayfinding indoors: An experimental study

Young-Hoon Bae et al.

Summary: This experimental study indicates that wayfinding at intersections within buildings can decrease human walking speed, with the change in speed depending on the type of intersection and path selection direction. The study also suggests that a multiple regression analysis can be used to model the reduction in walking speed caused by intersection type and path selection direction.
