Slower Auger Recombination in 12-Faceted Dodecahedron CsPbBr3 Nanocrystals

Supriya Ghosh et al.

Summary: In the past two decades, research has focused on suppressing Auger recombination in metal-chalcogenide and perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) for photovoltaic and light emitting device (LED) applications. A study examined dodecahedron cesium lead bromide perovskite nanocrystals (DNCs) and found that they exhibit slower Auger recombination compared to hexahedron nanocrystals (HNCs). The research demonstrates that multiexciton recombinations result in lower Auger recombination rates in DNCs than in HNCs.

Tuning Octahedral Tilting by Doping to Prevent Detrimental Phase Transition and Extend Carrier Lifetime in Organometallic Perovskites

Junwen Yin et al.

Summary: Organometallic perovskites have shown great potential as materials for next-generation solar cells. This study demonstrates the importance of octahedral tilting in stabilizing perovskite structures and extending carrier lifetimes. Doping the material with (K, Rb, Cs) ions enhances octahedral tilting and stability, while aggregation of dopants inhibits these effects. The simulations also suggest that enhanced octahedral tilting leads to increased band gap, decreased coherence time and nonadiabatic coupling, and extended carrier lifetimes.

Flexible Perovskite X-Ray Detectors through Interfacial Modification with Perylene Diimide

He Zhao et al.

Summary: Flexible perovskite-based X-ray detectors have great potential for imaging due to their high sensitivity, low detection limit, low-cost, and large-area fabrication. However, their inefficient X-ray-to-current conversion has been a challenge. In this study, an integrated, self-powered X-ray detector based on CsPbBr3 quantum dots and a MAPbI(3) photoelectric conversion layer embedded with perylene diimide molecules was fabricated. The detector showed improved performance with enhanced sensitivity and a stable output over bending cycles.

Suppressing the Ion Migration in Halide Perovskite Wafers for Current-Drift Free X-ray Detectors

Yingjun Chai et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskites have potential for X-ray detection due to their properties such as high defect tolerance, large diffusion length, and high attenuation efficiency. This study introduced ethylenediamine dihydroiodate (EDDI) as a surface passivation agent to improve the performance of perovskite wafer-based X-ray detectors. The introduction of EDDI greatly suppressed ion migration, reduced dark current, and resulted in a low detection limit and high on-off ratio.

Thermodynamic Stability, Structure, and Optical Properties of Perovskite-Related CsPb2Br5 Single Crystals under Pressure

Viktoriia Drushliak et al.

Summary: This study resolves controversies on the physical properties of CsPb2Br5, showing that optical absorption and photoluminescence are mainly caused by CsPbBr3 microcrystallites settled on the CsPb2Br5 plates. High-pressure experiments confirm the stability of the layered tetragonal structure of CsPb2Br5 and reveal a continuous red shift and moderate band gap narrowing under pressure.

Understanding Dark Current-Voltage Characteristics in Metal-Halide Perovskite Single Crystals

Elisabeth A. Duijnstee et al.

Summary: This study examines the electronic properties of methylammonium lead tribromide and methylammonium lead triiodide single crystals through experiments and simulations, revealing a high background carrier density and various factors influencing the free carrier concentration. Effective activation energies for conductivity are determined experimentally, and intrinsic parameters such as mobility and trap and ion density are extracted from drift-diffusion model fitting, providing insights into charge-carrier transport for device optimization in optoelectronic applications.

Highly Mobile Large Polarons in Black Phase CsPbI3

Heng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports the band-like transport of photogenerated charge carriers within all-inorganic black gamma-phase CsPbI3 thin films, with local mobilities nearly 1 order of magnitude higher than that reported for hybrid organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites. The results reveal that large polaron formation governs charge carrier transport within the material.

Highly mobile hot holes in Cs2AgBiBr6 double perovskite

Heng Zhang et al.

Summary: The study reveals enhanced hot carrier mobility in Cs2AgBiBr6 double perovskite, with hot carriers showing up to fourfold enhancement compared to cold carriers and capable of long-range hot carrier transport. Evidence suggests that the enhanced conductivity primarily comes from hot holes with reduced momentum scattering in Cs2AgBiBr6. The findings suggest Cs2AgBiBr6 as a promising platform for studying hot carrier transport fundamentals and developing hot carrier-based optoelectronic devices.
