Evaluating MTurk as a recruitment tool for rural people with disabilities

Summary: The study compares samples recruited through traditional and MTurk methods to understand the differences between the two and how they compare with national estimates of people with disabilities. The MTurk sample was found to be significantly different from the traditional sample in various dimensions, with overrepresentation in lower income brackets. The traditional sample had higher rates of social security benefits and insurance coverage compared to the MTurk sample.

Profiles of instrumental, emotional, and informational support in Chinese breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy: a latent class analysis

Summary: This study identified three profiles of social relationships among Chinese breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, including a low social relationships group (14.3%), a group with high instrumental support, medium emotional and informational support (24.6%), and a high social relationships group (61.1%). The findings showed heterogeneity in instrumental, emotional, and informational support in these patients, significantly correlated with demographic factors and impacting anxiety and depression levels. It highlights the importance of tailored interventions for high-risk patients based on socio-demographic characteristics and mental health symptoms.

The Relationship Between Working Alliance and Symptom Improvement in Cognitive Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Summary: The study found that the working alliance at the start of treatment predicted treatment outcome for patients receiving trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and changes in patients' PTSD symptoms during treatment also affected the working alliance. Therapists' working alliance ratings could predict patients' symptom scores at the next assessment point.

Emotional, informational and instrumental support needs in patients with breast cancer who have undergone surgery: a cross-sectional study

Summary: This study evaluated the support needs of breast cancer patients post-surgery and identified variables associated with those needs. Results showed that the informational support needs were lower than the reference group, while emotional and informational support needs were average. Marital status, childbearing history, lifestyle, employment status, anxiety and depression levels were related to the support needs in this population.
