Identification of two near-identical novel HIV-1 unique recombinant forms (CRF01_AE/B) among men who have sex with men in baoding, hebei, China

Binbin Zhang et al.

Summary: Men who have sex with men (MSM) in Baoding, China, are the most frequent source of HIV infection, leading to the formation of unique recombinant forms (URFs) of the virus. Two nearly identical URFs (BDD002A and BDD069A) were identified in this study, consisting of a combination of CRF01_AE and subtype B. These results highlight the urgent need for effective interventions to prevent the formation of complex HIV-1 recombinant forms in Baoding, China.

Genome mosaic structure of two novel HIV-1 recombinant forms (CRF01_AE/B) in men who have sex with men in Hebei, China

Xinli Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, two novel URFs were identified from two MSM in Cangzhou Prefecture, Hebei, China. These URFs originated from a recombination between HIV-1 CRF01_AE and subtype B. The MSM from whom the URFs originated were recently HIV-1-infected, suggesting a high prevalence of HIV-1 among MSM due to high-risk sexual activities.

Characterization of two novel HIV-1 second-generation recombinants (CRF01_AE/CRF07_BC) identified in Hebei Province, China

Xuegang Yang et al.

Summary: This study identified two novel HIV-1 recombinant forms (URFs) composed of CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC in Baoding city, Hebei Province, China. The co-infection of different subtypes suggests the increasing genetic complexity of HIV-1 epidemic in China.

Identification of a New HIV-1 CRF68_01B/CRF01_AE Recombinant Form Among Men Who Have Sex with Men in Hebei Province, China

Xinli Lu et al.

Summary: Homosexual contact has become the most frequent route of HIV-1 transmission in Hebei, China. A new second-generation recombinant form of HIV-1, originating from CRF68_01B and CRF01_AE, has been identified among men who have sex with men (MSM). This finding highlights the importance of monitoring HIV-1 diversity and implementing effective measures to control viral recombination in Hebei province.

Summary: In Israel, HIV-1 CRFs and URFs were mainly detected in Israeli-born MSM, and an increase in the overall proportion of such HIV-1 sequences could be observed in more recent years.
