Model integrating CT-based radiomics and genomics for survival prediction in esophageal cancer patients receiving definitive chemoradiotherapy

Jinfeng Cui et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the predictive power of computed tomography-based radiomics combined with genomics for the treatment efficacy of definititive chemoradiotherapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients. The results showed that the Rad-score and HRR pathway alterations were independent prognostic factors correlating with progression-free survival after dCRT. The combined radiomics and genomics model demonstrated the best predictive efficacy.

Quantitative CT analysis to predict esophageal fistula in patients with advanced esophageal cancer treated by chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy

Yan-Jie Shi et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of quantitative CT analysis and established a practical imaging model for predicting fistula formation in esophageal cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy. The results showed that quantitative analysis combined with T stage had excellent performance in predicting esophageal fistula.

Prediction of lymph node metastases using pretreatment PET radiomics of the primary tumour in esophageal adenocarcinoma: an external validation study

Chong Zhang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to improve clinical lymph node staging in oesophageal adenocarcinoma through the development and validation of three prediction models. The model combining clinical variables and PET radiomics showed the best performance in discriminating lymph node metastases in the external validation cohort, although the results were not fully replicated externally.

Dual-region radiomics signature: Integrating primary tumor and lymph node computed tomography features improves survival prediction in esophageal squamous cell cancer

Nian Lu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the prognostic value of combining radiomics features from primary tumors and regional lymph nodes in predicting overall survival in esophageal squamous cell cancer. It found that the dual-region radiomic signature outperformed single-region signature and integrating it with clinicopathological factors improved overall survival prediction.

Application of contrast-enhanced CT radiomics in prediction of early recurrence of locally advanced oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma after trimodal therapy

Sun Tang et al.

Summary: The study developed models based on radiomics and clinical features to predict early recurrence of locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, showing good performance in both training and validation cohorts. The integration of radiomics and clinical features may serve as a potential imaging biomarker for predicting early recurrence after trimodal therapy.
