The impacts of housing affordability on the household formation and homeownership of immigrant groups in Canada

However, housing affordability does not hinder immigrants in forming independent households, suggesting that many immigrants may be willing to allocate a greater share of their incomes to live independently.

Local ties that bind: The role of perceived neighborhood cohesion and disorder for immigrants' national identification

Summary: This study uses geo-coded panel data from the Netherlands Longitudinal Lifecourse Study to examine the relationship between perceptions of neighborhood social cohesion and immigrants' identification with the receiving society. The results show that high levels of perceived neighborhood social cohesion predict higher degrees of immigrants' national identification mainly through facilitating intergroup interaction.
