Deletion or inhibition of PTPRO prevents ectopic fat accumulation and induces healthy obesity with markedly reduced systemic inflammation

Takafumi Shintani et al.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the role of PTPRO in the control of glucose and lipid metabolism as well as obesity-induced systemic inflammation. Hyper-obese Ptpro-KO mice fed a high-fat/high-sucrose diet were used to investigate lipid accumulation, inflammatory cytokine expression, and insulin resistance. The effects of AKB9778, a specific inhibitor of PTPRO, on ob/ob mice and 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cells were also examined.

Screening of lipase inhibitors in citrus fruits by electrophoretically-mediated microanalysis combined with molecular docking

Tian-Ci Yan et al.

Summary: An efficient and environmentally friendly method for online screening of lipase inhibitors using capillary electrophoresis was established, with optimized conditions and molecular docking technology validating the inhibitory activity of citrus flavonoids on lipase. The extract of Tangerine Pith showed the highest inhibitory activity, and tangeretin, nobiletin, hesperetin, and naringenin were identified as potential inhibitors of lipase through hydrogen bond formation. This method can be used effectively for preliminary screening of lipase inhibitors from citrus fruits.

Screening of lactate dehydrogenase inhibitor from bioactive compounds in natural products by electrophoretically mediated microanalysis

Wen Li et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new strategy for rapid screening of LDH inhibitors from natural products, by integrating EMMA, TDLFP, and rapid pressure direction switching. The inhibitory activity of 12 bioactive compounds on LDH was investigated, revealing three potential inhibitors. This provides a potential tool for preliminary screening of LDH inhibitors from natural products.
