Tuning the Luminescence of Microwave-Assisted N-Doped Fluorescent Carbon Dots: Bioimaging Applications and Label-Free Anti-Cancer Drug Delivery

Neha Devi et al.

Summary: Nanosized fluorescent carbon dots (Cdots) with superior properties have attracted considerable attention in recent years. Cdots have potential applications in sensors, bioimaging, and drug delivery, and nitrogen-doped Cdots are of particular interest in bioimaging and drug delivery. Despite conventional drawbacks in Cdots synthesis, we report a green methodology for the synthesis of water-soluble, blue-emitting, nitrogen-doped multifunctional Cdots within 3 minutes using microwave irradiation. The synthesized Cdots exhibit good biocompatibility, efficient anticancer activity, and excellent bioimaging capabilities.

A dual-stimuli-responsive intelligent layered lanthanide hydroxide for application in information security and latent fingerprint identification*

Jun Xu et al.

Summary: With the rapid development of the information field, the research and development of optical storage materials with high security and large storage capacity have become increasingly important. In this study, a dual-stimuli-responsive intelligent fluorescent material was fabricated, which can achieve reversible multi-color luminescence conversion by varying the pH and temperature. By combining Morse code and security patterns, multiple encryption and decryption of confidential information, as well as anti-counterfeiting, can be realized. This material has great potential for application in information security and fingerprint acquisition due to its excellent color tunability.
