Railway freight subsidy mechanism based on multimodal transportation

Chuanzhong Yin et al.

Summary: This study proposed a freight subsidy mechanism considering various factors and used a bi-level programming model to address the disorderly competition among China Railway Express. In a case study of freight transport in the Yangtze River Delta and its surrounding areas, it was found that gradually increasing unit subsidies could increase the proportion of freight carried by China Railway Express, but different subsidy values should be set according to the time value of goods.
