Evaluation and Comparison of Quantitative Right Ventricular Strain Assessment by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance in Pulmonary Hypertension Using Feature Tracking and Deformable Registration Algorithms

Jing Song et al.

Summary: The study aimed to assess RV strain in PH patients using DRA and FT methods, finding that DRA was more sensitive in detecting RV dysfunction and had lower variability in measuring global strain compared to FT method. Further analyses revealed strong correlations between RVEF, RV global strain parameters, and mPAP, with RVEF and mPAP independently predicting GLS-DRA.

Quantification of myocardial strain assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking in healthy subjects-influence of segmentation and analysis software

Carolin Lim et al.

Summary: Myocardial deformation assessment using feature tracking is influenced by segmentation process and type of analysis software. Circumferential and radial strain values vary depending on the number of slices used for feature tracking analysis, as well as the type of analysis software. Global longitudinal strain appears to be a stable parameter across different field strengths and genders.

Right ventricular function as assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging-derived strain parameters compared to high-fidelity micromanometer catheter measurements

Takahiro Sato et al.

Summary: Right ventricular function is of prognostic significance in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Cardiac magnetic resonance-derived strain analysis can reliably reflect right ventricular diastolic dysfunction, providing valuable information for the diagnosis and management of pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Multivendor comparison of global and regional 2D cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking strains vs tissue tagging at 3T

Sebastian Militaru et al.

Summary: The study compared the accuracy of 3 different FT software in LV myocardial strain measurement, finding good consistency in GLS and GCS evaluation, while the consistency of GRS varied. In regional strain evaluation, there were larger differences between different vendors, especially for RS, and the diagnostic performance for regional strain analysis varied significantly.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance-assessed fast global longitudinal strain parameters add diagnostic and prognostic insights in right ventricular volume and pressure loading disease conditions

Shuang Leng et al.

Summary: The study utilized a fast, semi-automated method to quantify RV longitudinal myocardial function in patients with rTOF and PAH. The results showed that reduced RV fast GLS was associated with subnormal exercise capacity in rTOF patients and RV decompensation and higher risk of clinical worsening in PAH patients. Quantitative RV fast strain and strain rate parameters assessed from CMR can help identify abnormalities of RV function and predict clinical risks in patients with rTOF and PAH.
