Michael Kavanagh et al.

Summary: The relationship between self-esteem and gaming disorder has attracted the attention of researchers. This systematic review aims to analyze existing literature on self-esteem and gaming disorder and explore any variations in their correlation. Various databases and grey literature were searched for relevant studies published until October 11, 2021. The findings suggest a negative association between low self-esteem and gaming disorder, regardless of culture or age.
