Optimized energy storage performance of SBT-based lead-free relaxor ferroelectric thin film

Jinfeng Zhou et al.

Summary: Relaxor ferroelectric thin films with suppressed shallow trap defects achieved high energy storage performances through Mn doping. The Mn-doped SBT-BT relaxor ferroelectric thin films exhibited improved energy storage density, efficiency, fatigue resistance, frequency stability, and temperature stability. These results highlight the high energy storage performance and potential applications of SBT-BT-based relaxor ferroelectric thin films in energy storage systems. Importantly, this work provides an effective approach to enhance energy storage performances through shallow trap defect quenching.

Dielectric Properties of Mg2TiO4-Doped Ca0.65Sr0.35Zr0.65Ti0.35O3 with High Withstand Voltage and Low Loss

Yun Liu et al.

Summary: Mg2TiO4-doped CSZT thin films were successfully deposited using radio-frequency magnetron sputtering technology, and their dielectric response under different conditions was investigated. The introduction of Mg2TiO4 effectively reduced the loss factor and leakage current density of the films. The prepared 6% Mg2TiO4-CSZT thin film showed low loss, good temperature stability, high withstand voltage, and small leakage current density.

Strain Engineering of Energy Storage Performance in Relaxor Ferroelectric Thin Film Capacitors

Shiqi Xu et al.

Summary: Using phase-field simulations, this study investigates the strain engineering of energy storage performance of binary and ternary solid solution relaxor ferroelectric films by designing polymorphic nanodomains. The results demonstrate that polymorphic nanodomains in the ternary film contribute to better energy storage performance compared to the binary film. Moreover, modifying the film's in-plane strain from -2% to 2% leads to an 80% improvement in energy density and an increase in efficiency from 52% to 77%.

Dislocation-induced stop-and-go kinetics of interfacial transformations

Xianhu Sun et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the role of mismatch dislocations in modulating oxide-to-metal interfacial transformations, showing that the pinning effect is associated with the non-local transport of metal atoms to fill vacancies at the dislocation core. These results provide mechanistic insight into solid-solid interfacial transformations and have substantial implications for utilizing structural defects at buried interfaces to modulate mass transport and transformation kinetics.

Trirelaxor Ferroelectric Material with Giant Dielectric Permittivity over a Wide Temperature Range

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: An anomalous trirelaxor phenomenon in a barium titanate system has been discovered, leading to a giant dielectric permittivity and overcoming the long-standing trade-off between permittivity and stability. By mixing different polar nanoregions, advanced ferroelectrics with high performance and thermal stability have been successfully designed.
