Secure multi-dimensional consensus algorithm against malicious attacks

Xiaoyu Luo et al.

Summary: In this paper, the problem of multi-dimensional consensus subject to internal agent dynamics constraint and external non-cooperative malicious attacks is investigated. A secure discrete-time multi-dimensional consensus algorithm (SMCA) is proposed, which utilizes two-hop information to check the integrity of neighboring agents' information. A necessary and sufficient condition for all normal agents to achieve consensus exponentially under SMCA is derived. Analytical expressions for the effects of boundary-case attacks on the final state and convergence rate are obtained by casting the problem as an equivalent problem of multi-dimensional consensus with nonuniform time-delays under SMCA. Compared with existing works, SMCA can achieve multi-dimensional consensus for all normal agents with local dynamics even when the number of compromised agents is unknown. Finally, extensive simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Almost Sure Resilient Consensus Under Stochastic Interaction:Links Failure and Noisy Channels

Hamed Rezaee et al.

Summary: This research addresses the resilient consensus problem over a class of discrete-time linear multiagent systems, focusing on designing a control strategy for healthy agents to reach consensus despite malicious agents' attempts to prevent it. By developing a discrete-time protocol and imposing probabilistic conditions on interactions among agents, the study demonstrates almost sure consensus among healthy agents in the presence of stochastic links failure and communication noises.

LQG Control and Sensing Co-Design

Vasileios Tzoumas et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the joint design of sensing and control policies, tackling two dual problem instances: sensing-constrained LQG control and minimum-sensing LQG control. While no polynomial time algorithm guarantees a constant approximation factor from the optimal across all problem instances, the authors present the first polynomial time algorithms with per-instance suboptimality guarantees. The research frames LQG codesign as the optimization of approximately supermodular set functions, developing novel algorithms and establishing connections between suboptimality and control-theoretic quantities.

Sparse Linear Injection Attack on Multi-Agent Consensus Control Systems

Kam Fai Elvis Tsang et al.

Summary: This research investigates the problem of false data injection attack on communication channels in a multi-Agent system executing a consensus protocol. A non-convex optimization problem is formulated for an attack strategy with minimal one-step attack energy to ensure the instability of the consensus system. An algorithm based on ADMM is proposed to efficiently solve the problem in the absence of standard solvers, with numerical simulations provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the attack strategy.
