Peer-to-peer energy sharing with demand-side management for fair revenue distribution and stable grid interaction in the photovoltaic community

Fuyou Zhao et al.

Summary: This study proposes an innovative energy management method that integrates demand-side management (DSM) into peer-to-peer (P2P) energy sharing to ensure fair and low-cost participation for households. By considering evaluation indexes such as grid stability and revenue distribution fairness, a multi-objective optimization approach is used to obtain the optimal scheduling scheme for flexible loads in P2P sharing. Simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce overall cost, power fluctuation factor, and inequality index by 16.8%, 76%, and 62.6%, respectively, compared to only P2P energy sharing.

Battery-H2 storage system for self-sufficiency in residential buildings under different electric heating system scenarios

Jaehyun Go et al.

Summary: This study investigated the potential of a battery-H2 storage system using recovered heat to maximize energy self-sufficiency in residential buildings. The findings showed that the battery-H2 storage system achieved the highest self-sufficiency by compensating for the self-discharge loss of the battery through seasonal storage. It was also found to be the most cost-effective option for minimizing CO2 emissions.

Frequency regulation of multi-microgrid with shared energy storage based on deep reinforcement learning

Xingtang He et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new frequency regulation method for microgrids with shared energy storage based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL), aiming to cope with the uncertainty of source load and consider both frequency performance and microgrid operational economy. The method develops a frequency regulation model for the microgrid by sharing energy consumer's frequency regulation potential, and a command allocation model for smart generation control (SGC) that combines frequency safety and economy. A DRL framework is designed, and the twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm is used for implementing the SGC in the microgrid's continuous action space. Comparative simulations in isolated multi-microgrids are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the cost weight and responsiveness of energy consumers are analyzed.

A novel adaptive approach for improvement in the estimation of hourly diffuse solar radiation: A case study of China

Ying Yu et al.

Summary: This study proposes an adaptive approach that combines the grouping of kt-k data points with Liu & Jordan-type models for more accurate estimation of hourly diffuse radiation. The study was conducted using hourly radiation data measured in three regions in China. Grouping models were established based on the functional form of cubic polynomials for each region. The results showed that the grouping models performed better than the all-data model in terms of mean absolute bias error (MABE%) and relative root mean square error (RMSE%).
