This study focuses on the eco-friendly synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles using Centra-therum punctatum leaf extract. The synthesized nanoparticles showed potent antimicrobial activity and effectively inhibited biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. These findings demonstrate the potential of copper oxide nanoparticles for environmentally friendly synthesis and applications.
This manuscript focuses on the eco-friendly synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) using Centra-therum punctatum leaf extract. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of functional groups, while UV-vis spec-tral analysis exhibited absorbance peak at 224 nm. XRD analysis provided insights into the particle's crystallinity, revealing, crystal size in the range of 20-30 nm. SEM examination revealed the presence of spherical and hemispherical aggregated particles. The CuO NPs demonstrated potent antimicrobial activity and effectively inhibited biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The environmentally friendly synthe-sis and promising antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of CuO NPs make them noteworthy candidates for further exploration. (c) 2023 SAAB.
