Use words, not constructions! A new perspective on the unit of analysis in collostructional analysis

Thomas Proisl

Summary: The aim of collostructional analysis is to quantify the statistical association between a construction and a lexeme. The analysis is based on contingency tables, but it is often difficult to identify the units of analysis, so heuristic estimates are used. The author suggests defining the units of analysis on the word level.
