Numerical investigation on mooring line configurations of a Paired Column Semisubmersible for its global performance in deep water condition

Chiemela Victor Amaechi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a detailed investigation on the mooring line analysis for a deep draft paired column semisubmersible platform. The research compares two different mooring configurations and validates the model. Results show that the natural period of platform's heave motion ranges from 21s to 22s, and a damaged mooring line increases tension in other lines. Additionally, the CPC configuration has smaller amplitude for wave-frequency platform motions compared to the PP configuration.

Effect of the multi-segment mooring system by buoy and clump weights on the dynamic motions of the floating platform

Atefeh Neisi et al.

Summary: This paper proposes two hybrid mooring systems to improve the dynamic response performance of a floating platform. By utilizing a multi-segment arrangement of buoy and clump weight, the systems aim to enhance the platform's motion characteristics. Numerical results show that the natural periods of the two systems differ significantly from the main model OC4, while the wave frequency resonance remains similar.

Numerical Assessment on the Dynamic Behaviour of Submarine Hoses Attached to CALM Buoy Configured as Lazy-S under Water Waves

Chiemela Victor Amaechi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the dynamic behavior of submarine hoses attached to a CALM buoy in Lazy-S configuration through experimental and numerical research. The study focused on the effects of flow angles, wave height, soil stiffness, and hydrodynamic loads on the structural behavior of the submarine hoses.
