Improvement of wet rub fastness in continuous dyeing with c.i. Sulphur Black 1 by ultrasonic treatment

Margit Lenninger et al.

Summary: C.I. Sulphur Black 1 is an important dye for cellulose textiles due to its maximum colour depth at reasonable costs. In this study, pad-steam dyeing with C.I. Sulphur Black 1 was used, and the effects of an intensified washing process with ultrasonification on rub fastness were investigated. The results showed that ultrasound washing can improve the wet rub fastness of the dye.

Azo dye containing wastewater treatment in earthen membrane based unplanted two chambered constructed wetlands-microbial fuel cells: A new design for enhanced performance

Yamini Mittal et al.

Summary: This study developed an innovative earthen membrane-based two-chambered constructed wetland cum microbial fuel cell system that effectively removed azo dye and chemical oxygen demand while reducing toxicity to plants in wastewater. Through UV-visible spectrum and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis, the presence of intermediates and mineralized compounds in the wastewater was confirmed.
