Estimation of NOx pollutants in a spark engine fueled by mixed methane and hydrogen using neural networks and genetic algorithm

Mansour Keshavarzzadeh et al.

Summary: Nowadays, there is increased focus on pollutants emitted from cars due to stricter pollution standards. NOx, as a dangerous pollutant, has attracted significant attention. The estimation of NOx during engine development and design is crucial to reduce future expenses. This study utilizes neural networks to find coefficients for correcting NOx calculations, resulting in a decrease in the often complex and error-prone process. The neural network model is validated and exhibits promising potential in anticipating NOx levels.

Multi-threaded power flow of large-scale active multiphase distribution networks

Nikola Vojnovic et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a decoupled network model suitable for multi-threaded implementation of the Backward-Forward Sweep procedure. It presents new decoupled models for traditional and Electronically-coupled Distributed Energy Resources, as well as decoupled models for single-, two-, and three-phase line sections. The paper provides detailed Unified Modeling Language diagrams of the software model and procedures, and gives a model and procedure for both single-threaded and multi-threaded power flow calculations of large-scale active multiphase distribution networks. The results demonstrate significant speed improvements with the decoupled single-threaded and multi-threaded approaches over traditional coupled methods.
