First live birth after uterine transposition

Summary: This is the first reported case of a live birth after uterine transposition, pelvic radiotherapy, and subsequent uterine repositioning. A 28-year-old nulligravid woman underwent uterine transposition before receiving pelvic and thoracic radiation therapy. After successful radiation treatment, her uterus was reimplanted in the pelvis. The patient became pregnant and delivered a healthy baby after 36 weeks of gestation.

Radiotherapy dose limit for uterus fertility sparing in curative chemoradiotherapy for rectal cancer

Summary: This case report demonstrates a successful pregnancy following sphincter sparing curative pelvic radiotherapy for rectal cancer. The results suggest that a uterine dose of 16 Gy may enable fertility preservation beyond the limits achieved with total body irradiation of 12-14 Gy, and can be accepted for IMRT treatment planning in young patients seeking to maintain fertility potential.
