A randomized clinical trial of hyaluronic acid gel pulpotomy in primary molars with 1 year follow-up

Gokce Cicek Ildes et al.

Summary: The study showed that hyaluronic acid (HA) as a pulpotomy medicament for human primary molars was as successful as formocresol (FC) and ferric sulphate (FS) treatments, with no statistically significant differences in success rates observed after 12 months of follow-up. Further research is needed to improve the success rate of HA as a pulpotomy medicament.

Success of medicaments and techniques for pulpotomy of primary teeth: An overview of systematic reviews

Nitesh Tewari et al.

Summary: Except for calcium hydroxide, the success rates of pulpotomy medicaments/techniques were above 80% in all domains and time periods, with most comparisons showing no differences in clinical, radiographic, or overall success rates. Mineral trioxide aggregate was found to have better radiographic and overall success rates than calcium hydroxide and formocresol in certain time periods.

Summary: The study assessed the success rate of three capping materials for pulpotomy of primary molars, with MTA remaining the material of choice for such procedures. The NHA group showed a significantly lower success rate compared to MTA and FC groups.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate and compare the outcomes of different agents used in pulpotomy in human primary teeth. After 12 months, MTA showed significantly higher clinical and radiographic success rates compared to FC and EC. The success rates of MTA, BAG, and FC matched their physical and chemical properties.
