Numerical investigation on a unitization-based thermal management for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries

Gang Liang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a unitization-based thermal management solution with a novel distributed water-cooling component for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries. The effects of three important system parameters on the system performance are investigated using COMSOL software. The results show that these parameters need to be moderately determined to balance the cooling performance, power consumption, and lightweight of the system.

Experimental investigation of a loop heat pipe with a flat evaporator and cupric oxide nanofluids as working fluid

Tianyuan Zhao et al.

Summary: This study investigated a loop heat pipe system with nanofluids as the working fluid, showing that nanofluids can increase the maximum heat load and reduce the startup heat load, further improving the thermal performance of the system. Moreover, in the load variation and performance degradation tests, the system exhibited faster response speed and smaller temperature fluctuations when using nanofluids, indicating a positive impact on system performance.
