Nutritional quality improvement of soybean meal by Bacillus velezensis and Lactobacillus plantarum during two-stage solid- state fermentation

Long Chen et al.

Summary: A two-stage solid-state fermentation process using Bacillus velezensis and Lactobacillus plantarum was developed to degrade antinutritional factors in soybean meal and improve its nutritional value. The fermented soybean meal showed increased protein content, decreased fiber content, and exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

Basal ileal endogenous amino acid flow in broiler chickens as influenced by age

M. Barua et al.

Summary: The study found that the basal ileal endogenous amino acid flow in male broilers decreases with age, leading to changes in the amino acid profile of endogenous protein. This may be attributed to variations in the contribution of endogenous sources with age.

Optimization of Soybean Meal Fermentation for Aqua-Feed with Bacillus subtilis natto Using the Response Surface Methodology

Yukun Zhang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the nutritional value of soybean meal through solid-state fermentation with Bacillus subtilis natto. The optimum fermentation conditions resulted in significantly higher protein hydrolysis and crude protein content, while reducing anti-nutritional factors. The fermented soybean meal showed increased essential amino acids content and decreased anti-nutritional factors, indicating great potential for aquafeed applications.
