On linear power corrections in certain collider observables

Fabrizio Caola et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the impact of linear power corrections related to QCD on certain collider observables. By presenting arguments, we conclude that such corrections do not appear in inclusive observables with respect to QCD radiation. Although our study is conducted in a simplified framework, the results can be applied, to some extent, to processes in both lepton and hadron colliders.

Building blocks of Cwebs in multiparton scattering amplitudes

Neelima Agarwal et al.

Summary: In this article, new concepts regarding Cweb diagrams are introduced and used to understand diagonal blocks and null matrices in mixing matrices. By determining basis Cwebs up to a certain order, the prediction of exponentiated color factors for certain classes of Cwebs can be made starting at the next order. Complete mixing matrix results for two special classes of Cwebs are provided using this framework.

C-parameter hadronisation in the symmetric 3-jet limit and impact on αs fits

Gionata Luisoni et al.

Summary: Hadronisation corrections are crucial for extracting the strong coupling constant from event-shape distributions at lepton colliders. The leading non-perturbative correction in the symmetric three-jet limit for the C parameter differs significantly from the known result in the two-jet limit. Most interpolation choices in the region between the 2 and 3-jet limits increase the extracted alpha s by up to 4%, revealing a new perspective on the discrepancy between certain event-shape alpha s fits and the world average.

Cwebs beyond three loops in multiparton amplitudes

Neelima Agarwal et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the exponentiation of correlators of Wilson-line operators in non-abelian gauge theories, introducing the concept of Cweb and computing the four-loop mixing matrices. The results demonstrate that the conjectured column sum rule is obeyed, and low-dimensional mixing matrices can be uniquely determined from their combinatorial properties.

Power corrections to event shapes using Eikonal dressed gluon exponentiation

Neelima Agarwal et al.

Summary: Event shapes are classical tools for studying strong coupling and hadronization effects in electron-positron annihilation. Hadronization corrections in analytical studies take the form of power-suppressed contributions to the cross section, which can be extracted from the perturbative ambiguity of Borel-resummed distributions. We propose a simplified version of the well-established Dressed Gluon Exponentiation method, called Eikonal DGE (EDGE), to determine power corrections to event shapes through elementary calculations, which we believe can be generalized to hadronic event shapes and jet shapes relevant for LHC physics.

Infrared renormalons in kinematic distributions for hadron collider processes

Silvia Ferrario Ravasio et al.

Summary: In this study, the presence of infrared and linear renormalons in Quantum Chromodynamics was investigated in relation to their impact on short distance observables. Using an Abelian model, linear renormalons were found to affect the transverse momentum distribution of a neutral vector boson Z in hadronic collisions under certain conditions, while no evidence of their presence was observed in the large transverse-momentum region regardless of rapidity cuts.
