Sense of meaning and purpose in life and risk of incident dementia: New data and meta-analysis

Summary: The study found that a greater sense of meaning and purpose in life is associated with a lower risk of dementia. The researchers examined data from the UK Biobank and conducted a meta-analysis of published studies. The results showed that for every one-point higher feeling of meaning, there was a 35% decreased risk of all-cause dementia.
