Gauge invariance and localization of vector Kaluza-Klein modes

Chun-E Fu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the gauge invariance and localization of vector KK modes for a bulk U(1) gauge field on a brane with one extra dimension. It is demonstrated that the effective action of KK modes on the brane can be formulated in a gauge-invariant form for a localization mechanism with a gauge-invariant bulk action. However, only the massive vector KK modes and their accompanying scalar ones can be localized on the brane, preserving the gauge invariance of the massive vector field. On the other hand, for a localization mechanism with a broken gauge-invariant bulk action, it is impossible to rebuild gauge invariance on the brane.

Impact of compactlike and asymmetric configurations of thick branes on the scalar-tensor representation of f (R, T) gravity

Joao Luis Rosa et al.

Summary: In this work, we studied braneworld models in generalized f(R, T) gravity theories and used the scalar-tensor representation theory. By introducing auxiliary fields and relating them to the source field, we analyzed four possibilities regarding compactification and asymmetry of the brane. We found that in certain models, the solutions of the auxiliary fields are significantly influenced by the source field, exhibiting different behaviors.

Mass dimension one fermions: Constructing darkness

Dharam Vir Ahluwalia et al.

Summary: This article introduces the spin and spinor and their transformation rules, and introduces the ELKO spinors and two quantum fields, discussing their mass dimension and locality. The existence of spin half bosonic and fermionic dark matter candidates is proposed, and interaction theories and Newtonian gravitational interaction calculations are given. Finally, the thermodynamic properties of the mass dimension one fermionic field in the dark matter halo and higher-dimensional ELKO in braneworld scenarios are studied.

Fundamental energy scale of the thick brane in mimetic gravity

Tao-Tao Sui et al.

Summary: Thick branes generated by the mimetic scalar field with Lagrange multiplier are investigated in this study. Different background solutions exhibit stable behavior under tensor perturbations, with effective potentials showing volcano, Pooschl-Teller, and harmonic oscillator potential characteristics. Massless gravitons can be localized on the brane for all three cases. Corrections to the four-dimensional Newtonian potential vary depending on the background solution, leading to constraints on the scale parameter and five-dimensional fundamental scale.

Smooth braneworld in 6-dimensional asymptotically AdS spacetime

Jun-Jie Wan et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a six-dimensional smooth thick braneworld model with a compact extra dimension and an infinite large one, generated by a real scalar field achieving the localization of the free U(1) gauge field. The stability of the braneworld system and the localization of the graviton are also analyzed.
