A comparative study of the dichloromethane catalytic combustion over ruthenium-based catalysts: Unveiling the roles of acid types in dissociative adsorption and by-products formation

Qingji Ying et al.

Summary: A comparative investigation of Ru-based catalysts on different supports for catalytic combustion of dichloromethane was conducted, revealing that Lewis acid sites were more active than Brønsted acid sites. The presence of Cl species on TiO2 and Al2O3 supports interacted strongly with Lewis acid sites, leading to the formation of more polychlorinated toxic by-products. The study provides valuable insights into the development of catalytic combustion catalysts for chlorinated volatile organic compounds.

Regulation of the rutile/anatase TiO2 phase junction in-situ grown on -OH terminated Ti3C2Tx (MXene) towards remarkably enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Chao Peng et al.

Summary: This work presents a hydrothermal method to grow anatase/rutile phase heterojunction on -OH terminated Ti3C2Tx MXene for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production. The optimized photocatalyst showed superior performance with a large amount of rutile/anatase phase junction and a high quantum yield. Surface chemical analysis revealed the important role of ethylene glycol treated Ti3C2Tx MXene in photo-generated carrier separation and photocatalytic efficiency.

Synergistic effect in bimetal Cr-Pt/ZSM-5 catalysts with high activity for CVOCs low-temperature removal

Yijun Shi et al.

Summary: A series of Cr-Pt/ZSM-5 catalysts with different doping amounts of Cr species were prepared. The results showed that the appropriate doping of Cr species promoted the interaction between Pt and Cr species and led to the formation of more Cr6+ species and acid sites. The synergistic effect of strong oxidizing sites and abundant acid sites was beneficial for the oxidation and degradation of CVOCs.

Fabricating M/Al2O3/cordierite (M = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu) monolithic catalysts for ethyl acetate efficient oxidation: Unveiling the role of water vapor and reaction mechanism

Mudi Ma et al.

Summary: This study focused on the reduction and control of anthropogenic VOCs, with a particular emphasis on the fabrication of noble-metal-free monolithic catalysts for industrial VOC removal. A Mn-based cordierite monolithic catalyst showed exceptional activity and stability in the catalytic oxidation of ethyl acetate, with the presence of low levels of water vapor promoting EA conversion while higher concentrations inhibited it. This work provides important insights for designing VOC oxidation catalysts under practical conditions.

Catalytic oxidation of chlorinated volatile organic compounds over Mn-Ti composite oxides catalysts: Elucidating the influence of surface acidity

Hao Liu et al.

Summary: The reducibility and surface acidity of Mn-Ti composite oxides were controlled by adjusting the Mn/Ti molar ratio, impacting their catalytic activity for the deep oxidation of vinyl chloride. It was found that the catalyst surface acidity played a decisive role in the oxidation process, while Lewis acidic sites from Ti species also influenced the catalytic activity.
