Neural network reconstruction of late-time cosmology and null tests

Konstantinos Dialektopoulos et al.

Summary: This research explores the possibility of using artificial neural networks to reconstruct cosmological parameters and designs an optimal ANN model using mock data to infer the redshift profiles. Cosmological null tests are conducted to confirm the validity of the concordance model, showing a mild deviation with cosmic growth data.

COSMOPOWER: emulating cosmological power spectra for accelerated Bayesian inference from next-generation surveys

Alessio Spurio Mancini et al.

Summary: COSMOPOWER is a suite of neural cosmological power spectrum emulators that provide orders-of-magnitude acceleration for parameter estimation from two-point statistics analyses of Large-Scale Structure (LSS) and Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) surveys. It replaces traditional computation methods and can quickly and accurately recover fiducial cosmological constraints, completing posterior distributions in just a few seconds.

Reconstruction of latetime cosmology using principal component analysis

Ranbir Sharma et al.

Summary: We reconstruct late-time cosmology using the technique of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and focus on the reconstruction of the dark energy equation of state from two different observational data-sets. The analysis is carried out in two different approaches, and the derived approach is found to be statistically preferable. The reconstructed equation of state indicates a slowly varying equation of state of dark energy.

Neural networks and standard cosmography with newly calibrated high redshift GRB observations

Celia Escamilla-Rivera et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new method to calibrate gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) as cosmological distance indicators using a machine learning architecture with data from Type Ia Supernovae (SNeIa) observations. By combining a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and a Bayesian Neural Network (BNN), the network's efficacy is extended by computing covariance matrices. This method can be used to implement a cosmographic reconstruction of the distance-redshift relation in different redshift regimes.

Revisiting a non-parametric reconstruction of the deceleration parameter from combined background and the growth rate data

Purba Mukherjee et al.

Summary: The cosmic deceleration parameter q has been reconstructed using non-parametric methods and various observational datasets. The transition from a past decelerated phase to a late-time accelerated phase occurs within the redshift range 0.5 < z < 1. The evolution of q is found to be non-monotonic and oscillatory when considering different H-0 measurements and introducing Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) data.

Testing the ΛCDM paradigm with growth rate data and machine learning

Ruben Arjona et al.

Summary: This article proposes a method for cosmological consistency test using future survey data, by analyzing the growth of matter perturbation data to assess the accuracy of different cosmological models. By reconstructing these models using genetic algorithms, the results show that our test method is able to rule out multiple cosmological models and helps to check for tensions in the data and alleviate the existing tension of matter fluctuations.

Reconstructing the Universe: Testing the Mutual Consistency of the Pantheon and SDSS/eBOSS BAO Data Sets with Gaussian Processes

Ryan E. Keeley et al.

Summary: In this study, the mutual consistency between baryon acoustic oscillation measurements and the Pantheon supernova compilation was tested using Gaussian process regression in a model-independent manner. The expansion history preferred by these datasets was reconstructed, showing no significant preference for model flexibility beyond ΛCDM. The study also constrained parameters omega(k) and H(0)r(d) with both ΛCDM and Gaussian process regression, revealing different values for the parameters in each case.

Bayesian model selection on scalar ε-field dark energy

J. Alberto Vazquez et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes minimally coupled scalar fields - quintessence and phantom - as candidates to explain the accelerated expansion of the Universe, comparing their observables to current cosmological observations. By constraining the parameter space of two generic potentials and analyzing the data sets, it was found that the model slightly favoring quintessence field fits best with current data. Despite containing three extra parameters, this model cannot be distinguished from the standard ΛCDM model with curvature based on Bayesian evidence. The potential with minimal Bayesian evidence corresponds to a specific form of the scalar field potential.
