Clustering Techniques Selection for a Hybrid Regression Model: A Case Study Based on a Solar Thermal System

Maria Teresa Garcia-Ordas et al.

Summary: This study compares the performance of four clustering techniques and aims to achieve strong hybrid models in supervised learning tasks. A real dataset from a bio-climatic house in a wind farm in Galicia, Spain is collected. The authors utilize different clustering methods followed by a regression technique to predict the output temperature of a thermal solar generation system. Two possible solutions are implemented to evaluate the quality of each clustering method, including unsupervised learning metrics and common error measurements for regression algorithms such as Multi Layer Perceptron.

Logic of Informal Provability With TruthValues

Pawel Pawlowski et al.

Summary: This study employs a non-deterministic many-valued semantics and develops a modal logic T-BAT to address the issues of informal provability. It validates reflection and invalidates Lob's theorem. The study argues that T-BAT is a sensible candidate for a formal logic of informal provability.

Intelligent model for active power prediction of a small wind turbine

Francisco Zayas-Gato et al.

Summary: This study develops a hybrid model based on intelligent techniques to predict the active power generated by a low power wind turbine in a bioclimatic house. Unlike other research that considers both wind speed and direction, this model only uses the wind speed measured by a weather station. The prediction is performed 30 minutes ahead to optimize the power use in the house.
