Ghada ALMisned et al.

Summary: This study assessed the nuclear radiation attenuation competences of glass samples with different concentrations of Bi2O3. The results showed that the amount of Bi2O3 in the samples played a critical role in determining their shielding abilities, with the sample containing the highest Bi2O3 content exhibiting the best attenuation performance. Additionally, the effective conductivity and effective atomic number of the samples decreased as photon energy increased, indicating better attenuation in the low-energy range.

ZnO/CdO translocation in P2O5-TeO2-ZnO ternary glass systems: A reformative enhancement tool for physical, optical, and heavy-charged particles attenuation properties

G. Kilic et al.

Summary: In this study, the optical, physical, structural, and heavy charged particle absorption parameters of CdO doped P2O5-TeO2-ZnO ternary glass structures were reported. It was found that the ZnO/CdO translocation process increased the density and regularity of the glass structures. The evaluation of the absorption edge showed a shift in the absorption edge for glasses doped with CdO. Undoped C0 glass exhibited higher instability and non-uniformity compared to doped glasses. The C10 glass sample showed the highest degree of clarity, making it suitable for use in medical radiation facilities.
