Analysis of changes in thermal growing season and their relationships with atmospheric teleconnection patterns for the Yellow River basin in China

Kexin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the trends in the start and end dates of the thermal growing season in the Yellow River basin, finding a significant extension in the length of the growing season. The spatial patterns in temperature changes between spring and autumn were shown to be distinct.

Ground Frosts in Poland in the Growing Season

Czeslaw Kozminski et al.

Summary: The analysis of ground frosts in Poland during the thermal growing season from 1971 to 2020 showed no significant changes in the number of frost days. However, earlier disappearance of frosts in spring, later occurrence in autumn, and lengthening of the frost-free period were observed, creating more favorable conditions for cultivating plants with high thermal requirements in Poland.

Evaluation and comparison of growing season metrics in arid and semi-arid areas of northern China under climate change

Linli Cui et al.

Summary: By comparing different methods to derive growing season metrics, it was found that NDVI-based metrics tend to be later than those based on temperature, with recent trends showing advanced SOS, delayed EOS, and prolonged LOS. Significant changes were observed in different regions, suggesting the importance of considering multiple factors in establishing phenological models for accurate monitoring and assessment.
